MEET THE PASTOR

Rev. Dr. Michael K. Lang Sr. is the senior pastor of Word Assembly Church in Houston, Texas. He is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary (Theological Studies), Southern University of New Orleans (General Studies/ Education). He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University of Prairie View, Texas, and an Honorary Doctorate from Kenner Christian Theological College of Kenner, Louisiana.

Pastor Lang is a husband, father, brother, friend, and advocate for people dealing with mental illness and substance abuse. Also, you can find him on Saturdays witnessing to the lost, praying for individuals on the streets, ministering in the prisons, or working with inner-city youth as a referee. Pastor Lang says, “I enjoy being among the people, praying and showing them that Jesus cares for them!”

We realize that people come to God’s house with different experiences. Therefore, the church opens its doors with love and understanding. It’s the Holy Spirit’s job to shape people into the image of His Son.

MISSION

Jesus never met people’s spiritual needs without ministering to their physical ones. Seeing a hungry crowd, he had compassion and fed them. It’s with this same compassion that Word Assembly Church serves the community in the Greater Houston area and beyond.

EVANGELISM

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

In order to grow as a Christian, you must learn God’s Word. Word Assembly understands that God’s Word is inerrant and useful “for doctrine, reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works”. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

ANNA’S DAUGHTERS

Anna’s Daughters is a ministry dedicated to teaching women, by modeling Anna’s life in the Bible, to love God deeply and eagerly seek His presence, purpose, and plan for their lives.

Anna in the Bible, found in Luke 2:36-38, is a prophetess known for her deep faith, devotion to God, and service in the temple. She was a widow who spent her life in prayer, fasting, and worship, waiting for the coming of the Messiah. If you were a daughter of Anna, your character would likely reflect her unwavering faith, dedication, and spiritual wisdom. You would have a heart for serving others through intercession, offering counsel and comfort rooted in a deep connection with God. Like Anna, you would be someone who encourages others in their faith, especially those who are seeking hope and redemption. Your life would be a testament to perseverance and devotion, guiding others through prayer, humility, and love.

Anna’s Daughters also extends support to girls, mothers, children, and families, sharing Christ's love in tangible ways through evangelism, mission, and Christian education efforts.
